From unit one I feel I have learned how to assess where a learner falls in terms of proficiency. I have also learned that there is a fine balance on how much a teacher should provide to the students and how much they should encourage them towards the answer on their own. There is always going to be students that desire to learn more and it is imperative to nurture their learning but also get the other less motivated students inspired in whatever way works for them. Lastly, it is important to remember cultural differences and pick up on them when possible. The teacher plays so many more roles than just the 'teacher' and finding the balance between those roles is the key to success.
