An insightful unit. I have learnt the characteristics of a good teacher. I have also learnt that a teacher has many roles. Each role that a teacher takes at any given time will be influenced by the type of activity being done and what the teacher wants his/her learners to achieve. I have also learnt about the qualities of a good learner. The unit also highlights that learners can be grouped into young and adult learners. For each of these groups of learners, learners are motivated differently, have different experiences and may behave differently. I have also learnt that learners can be operating at different levels of English Language so the teacher has to take cognisance of these differences. I have also learnt the reasons that motivates learners to study English Language.
