Many adult students will also be interested in learning more about western English business cultures and experiences from your own country, along with the English to compare and successfully navigate interactions between their own business cultures and your own for international sales and conferences along with a myriad of other, again more specifically tailored, reasons for the individual. If you have some years of specific experience, particularly western corporate or more specific industry fields a good teacher should absolutely put to use what you know, not only what you have been taught as a teacher, but from real-world experience as well. As students move from children in set classes to more adult, advanced, specifically tailored studies it is increasingly important to find out more about them, their specific interests and needs for the English they acquire, and develop more focus in giving them what they want. It is important to develop a general ability in English, but as students reach more advanced levels you will need to specialize more and more to fulfill their needs, particularly if you cultivate many private lesson students. It is important to use every resource, ability, and experience that you have to best serve as many specific individual adult students with different needs as you can and excel as a teacher.
