This lesson concerned class management. The teacher's possible uses of voice, gesture, eye contact and position (seating or standing, etc.) are outlined. The physical arrangement of the classroom tables and chairs is also considered, giving the advantages and disadvantages for several variations from horseshoes to small groupings of tables. Ways to avoid wasting time writing on the board, using too much teacher talking time and, in general keeping the attention and obedience of the class are discussed. To me, the section on student and teacher rapport seems especially useful in a teaching setting.
