Teaching English is not limited to just an academic institution such as an Elementary school in a foreign country. Sometimes a classroom environment can present itself domestically in the form of foreigners traveling to an English native country, and needing to either learn the basics, or brush up on things that are more situational. Knowing the students profile, or why they are taking the class, not only helps the teacher know what to teach, it can be an accurate measure on the student's performance as well as their motivation which can determine how attentive they are in the class or how disruptive the learning process will be. By catering the teaching style to fit a more work-centric environment, the teacher can create a learning experience specifically tailored to the students' needs that goes hand in hand with the company's mission statements. It isn't easy to force work on someone who doesn't want to participate. And it is even harder still to knowingly let up on the work load, so the class can balance their homework with their paid real work. But towing such a line is essential to becoming a valued member of a once foreign based company that has recently taken to moving to English speaking countries. Many times, CEO's will hire a teacher to instruct their work staff on the intricacies and nuances of the English language, paying special homage to the type of work the company is employed in, to make the lessons more relatable to the employees. For instance, an office supply chain will want their employees well versed in the differences between corrugated manila stock paper and three tab folders, and might not care if their employees know other vocabularies such as medical and legal terms. By catering a more specific vernacular, the time spent learning new words will be worth it, as all terms will somehow benefit the employees in bettering their career. Managing time is also an important feature in the student's profile, as a boss of a company wont want all their employees to be overwhelmed with extracurricular homework and anything else that can detract from their potential work output. Having to use time in the most efficient manner will prove to be tricky, yet rewarding if done properly. This would be a great time to make sure all are familiar with the names of what they are selling. The hardest part of teaching employees is teaching the ones that don't wish to participate. Being engaging and having a level of respect can help breakdown even the toughest of walls and hopefully ingrain some knowledge into those who think that your class is a waste of time.
