A good teacher will have the knowledge and enthusiasm to inspire and further encourage good learners. A good teacher will strive to be adaptable to the various different kinds of students in each class, and know that caring about the students learning and retaining knowledge will be the key to the students success. The levels of motivation, previous knowledge (if any), age and life experience will factor in each experience for the teacher and each student in every class. I personally believe that each individual has their own unique way of learning. Unit one certainly reinforced this. In order for the student to succeed, the teacher must be able to fully understand and be able to switch roles in order to keep the students engaged and learning. Regardless of age, reason for learning English, or the students motivation/attitude, a good teacher will have the personality qualities, professional good judgement of knowing which role to assume and when, and be invested in the students learning process. This will be conveyed to the students regardless of any language barriers. That will result in a good learner, a successful student and an amazing classroom experience for all involved.
