I learnt in this unit the value of the different qualities in both the ideal teacher and the ideal student, and the relationship between these two ideals. I also learnt the different roles that the teacher is able to pose during their lessons, the importance in varying these roles played, depending upon the students, the lesson material and the situation of the class. I learnt the importance of developing a trusting and inspiring relationship with my students, to nurture and build their confidence; allowing them to grow and to help them in that growth wherever possible. The unit also covered different characteristics of learners, and how to accommodate and understand the perspectives of these learners at different levels, different ages and with different personalities
