I have been teaching for more than a decade and have always been asking myself , Have I don enough? Witnessing the progress of a child under my teachings and guidance is one of the most uplifting feelings in the world. On the other hand, seeing the stunted growth of an unmotivated child makes me feel like the worst teacher. So what exactly makes a good teacher? A good teacher not only cares about his/her teaching but also the welfare of the students. He/ she should explain the topic in a way that is easier for students to understand. He/ she should organize activities according to the level of the students to make the lessons more engaging and motivating . A teacher must assess the students on their of level of understanding to monitor their progress. Most of all, the best teachers are those who show you where to look but don't tell you what to see. Life in the classroom is a two-way street. If a teacher should be good, what students should have to be a good learner? A good learner listens, ask questions, has desire to experiment and learn, accepts criticism and be able to think of their learning process and methods. It is the teacher's responsibility to encourage and foster these attributes in the classroom. Different culture have different approaches to learning .A teacher should be aware of his/her students' customs and differences that could affect the success of the classes.He/ she should consider the level of student's understanding to ensure their growth. In short, an enthusiastic , sensitive , motivated and caring teacher is much more likely have successful students.
