The unit is about the characteristics of a good teacher, his or her roles and the characteristics of a good learner. A good teacher should care about his or her teaching as much as he or she cares about the learners. A good teacher should be partial at all times and non-discriminatory. Roles of a teacher include being a manager, prompter, facilitator,assessor as well as participant in the teaching and learning process. Understanding the different class of learners is crucial and so is knowing influences behind the drive to learn English language and what may affect the learner such as previous learning experience, nervousness,motivation,language awareness and life experience. The unit also educates about the different language levels from beginners to advanced language level.
