I found unit one to be a very useful reminder of the main reasons I entered into the teaching profession twenty-two years ago. The content reminded me of how I should be teaching and behaving in my classroom on a daily basis and making myself more aware of learner sensitivities. The various key roles a teacher plays within a lesson are very important. I reflected on whether I ask myself when planning lessons, what am I trying to achieve and what role would best achieve this? I have not been doing this. I need to change this immediately in order to teach more effectively.
