This unit taught me the importance of having a good relationship with the learners. As a teacher, I need to be patient, gentle, and encouraging toward the students. This unit also taught me how to tailor a lesson to a specific group of learners. In example if I am teaching a group of really young learners, age seven or below, then I should make the class fun and exciting. On the other hand, if I am teaching a group of adults, I can get straight to the point since they normally have a high motivation level to learn, but I also need to gently correct them since they are usually more nervous about learning a new language.
