First and foremost, this unit provided a brief overview of the main roles a teacher could (or should be able to) play in a class-room environment. I learnt that teachers should be aware of the fact that different groups of students will require a different method of teaching. Secondly, I also learnt that there are different levels of English proficiency, as established by the Council of Europe. Furthermore, I found it interesting to read that good teachers will generally have good students. I honestly believe that this is true. If you have a charismatic and highly motivated English teacher, I'm sure that this will work as a catalyst for students to participate more in the class-discussions and other activities. To keep the group of students motivated is key to their learning process. To conclude, I enjoyed reading through the course materials of this first unit. I feel that it provided me with a proper introduction to this course. Thank you.
