This unit really helped me understand how successful learning is a team effort between teachers and learners, though it is up to the teacher to steer the experience in a positive way. Where students may lack confidence or motivation, the right teacher can help them gain these important qualities so they become better learners and the entire experience is successful. It made me realise how, as a teacher, I really need to put myself out there for my students, and develop those qualities within me, to help students in a variety of learning situations. I will also have to adapt to their needs. I have also never formally learned about language proficiency levels so this was very interesting and will help in my future teaching.
