This unit talks on parts of speeches in English language ( verbs, nouns, adverbs, adjective, prepositions and conjunctions). Nouns(names of people, places etc)could be common, proper, compound, abstract or collective nouns. They could be in singular or plural forms. With regular nouns,we change from singular to plural by adding "s" to the end of the verb and adding an "ed" to a noun that ends either with "ch,sh,x,s".while for nouns ending with "Y",we remove the "y" and add "ied". I also learnt that irregular nouns don't really got a format example feed-fed, eat-ate I also learnt of definite and indefinite articles. With definition articles,we often use "the" which is placed before the singular and plural nouns meanwhile indefinite articles are only placed before singular nouns and are two in numbers "a,an" whereby "a" is used before a singular noun begining with a consonant and "an" used before a vowel singular noun. On adjectives (words that add more meaning to a noun) like big, small, they're divided into two (comparative and superlatives) depending on the number of persons. When talking about two people,we use comparative by adding "er" for a syllable word example fast-faster.But when a syllable word ends with "y" we remove the "y" and add "ier".And for two or more syllables words,we add "more" and copy the noun example beautiful-more beautiful. As fir superlatives we add "iest" for a syllable word and for rwo or more syllables words, we write "most" and copy the noun example beautiful-most beautiful, easy-easiest. I also learnt of verbs( action words in a sentence).we have regular and irregular verbs. For regular verbs that end with "ss,ch,x,sh" we add "es" at the end of a 3rd person singular. Verbs can also be transitive and intransitive . Transitive verbs are form (subject+verb+objects) example Paul hates Raul. Meanwhile, intransitive verbs are followed by object* verbs of movement) I also got ro learn of gerunds( form by adding "ing" to the noun)instead of adding the verb.they consist of both subject, objects and verbs. I also learnt of pronouns( which replace nouns in a sentence ).Here it consists of possessive and personal pronouns as well as prepositions like preposition of position, movements and time
