Studying parts of speech was certainly a challenge as I had forgotten all about the mental gymnastics required. I would have to brush up on this chapter whenever I am required to teach it, the amount of exceptions to rules are always surprising and exasperating. What seems so simple and obvious when conversing in english, certainly becomes far more complicated when parts of speech are involved but nonetheless serves as a very useful way understanding sentence structures and grammar.
