Grammar is never easy to explain, learning or reviewing it in my case was actually not too bad because pretty frequently we don't really stop and think about the parts of speech but jumping right into the grammar rule itself. Starting from the basic grammar and seeing it as a completed sentence and breaking it down surely made it easier for me to work with. I can surely see how useful it could be for adults to learn it in a similar way especially becuase they tend to associate the english language to their native language.
