The main parts of speech are nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, pronouns, articles, gerunds, and conjunctions/prepositions. Nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, and pronouns are fairly obvious in their use. Gerunds use a verb as a noun. Conjunctions connect two related parts of speech, whereas prepositions show the relationship in space/time between objects. For me, the most difficult parts to teach will be the difference between prepositions and conjunctions.
