This very unit helped me refresh my memory, especially when it comes to the usage of the definite article ''the''. I believe that, even though we are familiar with certain things related to syntax and grammar, it is always worth revising things. What I learned is as follows: 1. We shouldn't use definite article ''the'' if we are mentioning the names of mountains. However, if we are talking about the ranges of mountains, such as ''the Andes'', definite article is necessary. 2. It's redundant to use ''the'' article if we are talking about the names of continents. 3. If we mention names of lakes and bays, we shouldn't use the definite article. Exception refers to the groups of lakes, such as ''the Great Lakes'' 4. We do not use ''the'' article before names of countries as well. However, ''the Netherlands'', ''the Czech Republic'' are considered to be exceptions.
