Grammar is considered a prominent element in the learning of any target language. It encourages learners to speak confidently and accurately. Personally speaking, I have found this unit as a kind of detailed overview of the basic English grammar. Particularly, parts of speech, commonly referred to as the classification of words into categories, is considered the core central of English grammar basis. The hierarchical explanation of parts of speech is efficiently beneficial and though-provoking. I have reviewed the main categories related to parts of speech including but not limited to nouns, adjectives, verbs and prepositions. The explanation of each category has helped me to widen my overall background of English grammar. Thanks to this unit, I have successfully learnt the major types and subtypes, including regular and irregular forms, of categories related to parts of speech. All in all, the process of explaining, grammatically speaking, parts of speech in an effective and thorough way to learners is of paramount importance for an effective teaching.
