This unit covered the basic building blocks comprising the English language. The focuse is on teaching the basic parts of speech and how they are used in Writing and speaking English. We learned, for example, that a sentence in order to be complete must contain a subject and a verb. It may also contain an object which is the person or thing to whom the action is applied. Learning and memorizing these parts of speech will provide the teacher with a solid foundation for teaching the English language.
