A reminder of the structure of the English Language is incredibly useful for a native speaker, as the language forms naturally with no thought required to construct a sentence, as this happens sub-consciously. Being able to provide the 'building blocks' of the language to students is the 1st step to learning. Being able to provide this in the form of grammatical rule sets, where appropriate, as the English language is resistive to common rules and contains many exceptions, is a useful tool to aid students. While study of the form of the English Language is studied for several years as part of the UK's Education system, its very rarely revisited by many native speakers, and many would only retain the basics of the Grammar system, while instinctively utilising the other grammatical structures without thought. These more advanced grammatical structures requires great thought into teaching methodology, as even Native speakers don't study these advanced forms until after developing a natural understanding of the language as its not normally discussed until secondary education.
