As a product of inventive spelling in the American education system, my grammar education was incredibly lacking. Everything I know about writing the English language must be credited to my creative writing teachers and my mother. Despite their efforts, details in grammar and sentence structure are still a personal struggle for me. As my own students are becoming more technologically savvy, I have noticed that many of them have similar struggles. It will be interesting to see if the English language begins to evolve or if speakers and writers buckle down and review the rules of our language. This I hope is one of the few difficult units in my studies for a TESOL certification.
