I'm currently studying the German language and am learning how to use the word "the". I've gotten really frustrated because there are so many different ways to use "the", depending on the noun that follows it. I've been thinking that English is easy because 1. It's my native language and 2. There is only one way to say "the", no matter what the object is that follows. This lesson reminded me that English is absolutely NOT easy and it's essential to have patience with students as they are learning.
