I appreciate this unit and the details it went into about each part of speech. Though I would generally consider myself a good grammarian, I learned some things I hadn't known before. Rather, I learned the why behind things that I'd been conditioned to do. It was helpful to look at uncountable vs countable nouns, transitive vs. intransitive verbs and why more is used instead of -er in some comparisons. It was also helpful when looking at verbs to have a list of the irregular ones and all their forms. It would have been helpful to me to have more description of the difference between the verb forms (though this may be coming up in a later unit). I was slightly unsatisfied with the prepositions portion because from only the reading I would not be confident in how to communicate this with a group of English learners. It was helpful, however, to remember the prepositional phrase list I learned in elementary school and it prompted me to revisit that part of my education. I also found it interesting to have a gerund listed as a part of speech. In my early education, this was only mentioned as a side note and therefore I didn't understand it well. I appreciated the examples of gerunds and would have liked to see a few more examples. Ie: "Fighting is often dangerous." or "I am scared of fighting." It would have also been helpful to have a list of all the parts of speech at the beginning of the chapter. The list that was used here was slightly different than what I had learned as a child: noun, verb, adverb, adjective, pronoun, conjunction, interjection, and preposition.
