This unit focuses on the four types of the Past tense as Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect and Past Perfect Continuous. For each tense there are four areas that have been discussed. In the Form area are stated the grammatical construction and rules of the tense, its affirmative, negative and question form, and the formation of the regular and the irregular verbs in the past. Usages area discusses under what circumstances and how a particular tense is used, providing also examples. The typical mistakes/errors area shows examples of predictable mistakes of each tense a student could make, so the teacher needs to formulate strategies what the error is and how it should be fixed instead. The last area is Activate stage and teaching ideas which gives us variety of options how to encourage the students to communicate while using the new tense or a grammar point.
