I learned in this unit that the forms and usage of the past tense can create confusion to an ESL student (And a native speaker). Reading the "common mistakes made", I understand where the confusion can be made. For example, in the past continuous tense, I have witnessed many individuals omitting the verb 'to be' in their sentence structure. Understanding the root cause of this, I can now explain that the correct form would be to use the past continuous for interrupted past actions. A clever game will also help make things easier to understand.
