This unit dealt with approaches to teaching new language, the focus being on vocabulary, grammar and functions. For each area, I was given factors to consider for what and why students should be learning. I was given criteria on how to select appropriate vocabulary, grammar and function and how to present them in my lessons. I was also shown techniques for teaching the material. I found the example ESA lessons to be helpful as they offered a wide variety of ideas, specifically for teaching grammar, which can be a very "dry" subject to teach in my experience.
