It complicates by the fact the interpreter is there to transfer the meaning of the speech, text or message in a correct way, make it understandable to the reader, or listener or the communicator. Excellent knowledge of the language is essential there. The fact that sometimes meetings can be attended by the people of different nationalities, makes the fact that some of the expressions may be considered rude or even unacceptable, makes thing even more difficult. And even different type of translators have different experience with the language. For example the interpreter's experience is very different from the synchronical translators. Teaching foreign language is a very specific experience. Apart that is very valuable, it has its own aspects that others don't have. For example being a good translator doesn't make you a good teacher. And visa versa. Although both professions have to deal with the language, the methods are completely different between translating the messages and techniques of teaching it. Modern technology is helping us to experience the foreign language in everyday life. It almost makes more sense to use Microsoft programs in the computer in English then in native language. A lot of instructions how to use the equipment will be written in English. A lot of people buying smartphones don't even bother to change the language to their native, but prefer English. Number of the names of the brands, products, companies etc are written in English of the native language and are not translated into any of others. Cuisines of different culture often use their particular products using its original names. So let's say that for the chef of the Michelin restaurant is it important to know them. And that is experience too. Or, for example, it is almost crucial for a sommelier to know the names and often very complicated pronunciations of the wines. Songs are sung in their original language by everybody in the world, whether it is the song of Toto Cutugno in italian, or Pitbull, or star of teenagers Shawn Mendez. We experience foreign language using social networks. We use foreign language words in our native one by transliterating them. So as we can see the range of the foreign language experience if vast. It became a part of our everyday life, our interest and our work. That's why there are so many people who want to learn it.
