Unit 7 is about what to consider when teaching vocabulary, grammar and functions. Keeping in mind the level of the class, the teacher must always remember four things that the students need when learning a new language, exposure, understanding its meaning, understanding how it is constructed and students must be able to practice it. The different ESA combinations were reviewed. It is important to consider which one might be more appropriate for teaching a lesson, ESA straight arrow, the ESA patchwork, or the ESA Boomerang in order to provide a balanced presentation of vocabulary, grammar and the functions of the language.
