A teacher needs to apply ESA methods to introduce new language. Lessons that introduce the use of grammar and vocabulary use the Straight Arrow approach, and function based language are more commonly approached with Boomerang or Patchwork approach. It doesn’t mean this is the correct way of doing it. A teacher should always take into consideration the level of the students and can adjust these approaches.
