This unit covered what we, as instructors, must know about teaching a new language. We must teach vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions. Using ESA in 'straight arrow' manner, one would use the 3 stages in a straightforward way - i.e., engage, study, activate. In a 'boomerang' fashion, one would use Engage, Activate, Study, Activate to reinforce elaboration of the language learned. It can further practiced when using 'patchwork' way where one can repeat these stages as long as we being with 'Engage' and end the class with 'Activate.' Ideas for various stages were given which are very helpful to apply when teaching in our class.
