Vocabulary is very important, especially in the early stages when students are motivated to learn the basic words they need to get by in the language. there are a number of factors from which depends how easy and difficult a vocabulary item is: 1. similarity to students’ own language 2. appropiacy 3. spelling and pronunciaton 4. similarity to English words already known The students will also need to know what the language means, how it’s used, what the grammatical form is and how it is said and written.
