There are four present tenses: the present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. They have different forms, different usages. It is important for the teacher to find good ways to help students explore the tenses. I have learned some interesting teaching ideas/activities in this unit. Errors/mistakes will be made but some of them are predictable so it is useful for a teacher to formulate correction strategies and examples in advance.
