In this unit, four present tenses were explained. These tenses include the present simple tense, the present continuous tense, the present perfect tense, and the present perfect continuous tense. This unit's explanations have outlined not only how these tenses are formed but also when each tense is used. This was a major gap in my knowledge of the English language that I am glad to have filled in. Also, having examples of how students tend to make mistakes and errors when determining which tense is appropriate is helpful as it allows for formulation of concise and understandable corrections and explanations before the students even make the mistakes. Through this unit I have been able to recognize the different present tenses and have developed an understanding as to how to explain them effectively to students.
