A TEFL course is a real discovery both for experienced teachers and for the teachers who only begin their career. For me, a TEFL course is a symbol of the unity of all peoples and nations through the study, development and understanding of each other. Of course, obtaining a diploma in basic education is an integral part of teacher preparation for teaching their subject. A TEFL course is an excellent complement to the basic education, which helps to get the additional skills we, as teachers, need to keep abreast of current educational trends and to fully understand the characteristics of teaching foreign students, taking into account their cultural and speech features. I have been teaching English for over 20 years, and it is a great honor for me to be a hereditary teacher. My teaching experience includes teaching people of different ages, from children of two years of age to representatives of the “happy age”. The level of English proficiency and the request for learning outcomes are also completely diverse: teaching kids, their familiarity with the language through playing activities and working with schoolchildren of different ages, and preparing to enter a university, teaching English in a university in faculties of different directions: jurisprudence, accounting, tourism, personnel management, psychology and PR. I can say that teaching for me is part of my soul. Of course, I have a higher professional pedagogical education. For me, the TEFL course is another step towards the development of my teaching skills and the opportunity to teach English not only in Russia, but also abroad. I am so grateful that I have found such a course that helped me find the right approach to students, to be a part of the global work of teaching English, to be in unity with colleagues around the world and to feel useful to people wherever I am. My dream is to teach English abroad, and the TEFL course has greatly helped me to be more confident in my teaching skills, and thanks to this course I will be able to keep abreast of current trends in teaching, expand my professional horizons, be able to better educate people in English, implement my potential as a teacher, my lessons will become more interactive and useful for students, I can get acquainted with new colleagues and students, learn the culture of the country where I will teach and be in-demand specialist in this direction. The TEFL course is an undeniable advantage for the development of teaching skills. And I am so happy and surprised that to get a TEFL certificate, there is no need to specifically go to the USA or the UK, but I can study online and get an international certificate that is generally accepted, which of course is a very big advantage, because I can continue my work and learn in parallel, being anywhere in the world. And, although I am not a native speaker of English language, I think that obtaining this certificate is very useful for me as a teacher who constantly develops professional skills. A TEFL course can be a fascinating career path for those who are open to new achievements, new communication and new culture, who devote their lives to help other people. This course gave me a wide range of tools and practices needed to become an excellent teacher of English language.
