I never realized, before taking this unit, just how many future tenses we use in English, and how confusing they might be for somebody who does not instinctively know how to use them. The most surprising distinction, for me, was that which exists between the future simple and the "going to" future construction. Taking not of the students in my own class currently, this is a difficult concept for them to grasp, despite the future simple/going to future construction being two of the easiest phrases to construct without much irregularity (i.e. it is always "Pronoun + will + verb infinitive without to" no matter what the verb.
