When observing a class, it is easy to find some students try hard to participate in learning activities, while some students try less to participate in learning or even not happy and rather anxious. These learners' attitudes toward learning are related to 'motivation'. Education experts say that motivation is important. But what is the motivation? Motivation is a theoretical construct used to explain the initiation, direction, intensity, persistence, and quality of behavior, especially goal-directed behavior (Maehr & Meyer, 1997). In other words, motivation is a force that drives one to act. Then why is motivation important in education? Motivation is of particular interest in the field of education because of its strong impact on student learning. Motivation in education can have several effects on how students learn and their behavior towards subject matter (Ormrod, 2003). According to Ormrod, motivation has effects on how students learn and behave towards the subject matter. The effects of motivation are well verified throughout various studies and researches. More motivated students are more likely to behave better when they encounter hardness and therefore, have a higher probability to learn more and have better Academic performance. The following list is characteristics of learners with high motivation 1. Deal with material geared to their level. 2. See purpose in their activities and study. 3. See their studies as important. 4. Are given a demanding work. 5. Live in a secure environment. 6. Feel the learning is for them and not for the teacher. 7. Work with interesting material. 8. Experience more success than failure. 9. Have the opportunity to express their psychological needs for success, recognition, and approval. 10. Conceive of themselves as capable individuals. 11. Have some opportunity to make decisions, enter into the planning, and feel responsible for participating. Foreign language acquisition is a complicated process, which involved different factors. The personality factors, especially non-intelligence factors, such as motivation, attitude, character, etc., are the most important ones, among them, apparently, motivation is the key to learning (Dahmardeh, M., & Hunt, M., 2012). To conclude, we receive in the fact that motivation is an important variable when we examining the success of the second language learning (Mao, Z., 2011). One of the best steps for facilitates learning for learners is to inform learners about the needs of motivation in learning. Students should be motivated in different ways because different students with different characteristics need different types of motivation. In classroom, motivation can be provided by other students, in my opinion in this way students become more motivated. In addition to factors which influence student’s motivation and are discussed in various researches, teachers should consider other factors, according to their classroom environment, student’s aptitude, and course goals and so on. In many of the cases, the fact that children's learning outcomes do not appear is due to lack of learning motivation. It is therefore important that children are constantly motivated to learn. If students have the motivation to learn, they will concentrate to achieve their own goals. Motivated students can reach their learning goals more easily than students who are less motivated to learn. Also, when students achieve their goals, they will be able to taste the sense of accomplishment, acting as a driving force, to continue developing and achieve new dreams.
