Wow, I've learnt a lot from this unit. We use the language naturally all the time but don't always know the reasons behind it. Some things such as nouns, verbs and pronouns I found easier as I use these all the time with my students particularly around their communication needs. The structure of the sentence and the names of they different parts of grammar and speech were difficult for me. I found it a challenge to work out transitive and intransitive verbs but kept working on it until I had it figured out. Before I teach this I would like to work out my won sentences to use so that i feel more confident on how the structure works and the names of the parts of speech are clear in my mind. Interestingly the principal forms of verbs were something we worked on when I was learning Spanish so this helped me understand it better in English!
