Parts of speech focused on very important grammatical usage of the English language. After studying this unit one is able to differentiate between different types of adjectives, verbs, adverbs and so forth. It was also brought to my attention that knowing how to speak English does not necessarily mean one knows how the formal English grammar is used. I was once again reminded by the different verb forms (transitive or intransitive), different types of adverbs (manner, place, time, degree, etc.) as well as pronouns, gerunds and conjunctions. The order when placing adjectives in sentences e.g. size then age then colour then material was of interest to me at the beginning of the unit.
