Within the context of my current duties, I do not teach grammar, other than basics, and so this unit section was an excellent refresher for me, especially considering that I have not formally studied this aspect of English in over thirty years. It further helps to remind me why many east Asian students are weary and beaten down in their formal English studies. They are forced to learn a seemingly endless set of rules and conventions when they have had very little practical usage prior to that point. It is rarely, if ever, considered how most native English speakers only spend a small amount of their formal education learning the precise rules English, because they have both heard and spoken so many millions of words by the time they reach junior middle-school, that much of the syntax has been learned through immersion, vs brute force study. I like how this unit’s text broke apart the grammar elements into the eight constituent parts, and further broke each into its sub-parts. The section formatting made it easy to follow, and the examples were appropriate. I did find one element for which neither a definition nor example was given: Verb forms / past participle. While it was noted in a bullet list, it was not later expounded upon and I had to use Google for further information. Otherwise I found the text very useful.
