All lesson plans should start with an engage and end with an activate activity. It is important to engage the student in the beginning of the lesson so that they are confident to take on new material. Usually start with a game or fun activity to get the kids warmed up. The study stage is the opportunity for students to comprehend the new material with a worksheet. Activate is the time when students apply their new knowledge along with previous material learned before. Activities that I think will most effective during activate stage is role-playing. Students will have the ability to be creative in designing common interactions that they may come across during their day: doctor visits, grocery shopping, visiting friends, etc.
