In this unit I learned that the seating arrangement in the classroom helps establish a more relaxed atmosphere if using the horseshoe or circle, but this arrangement can’t really work for large classes of more than 25 people. I also found out the pros and cons of students working in pairs, small groups or as individuals, and was reminded that different activities call for different grouping arrangements. Another interesting thing that I learned about in this unit was the many different ways a teacher can establish rapport with the students. Those tips seem like a very nice reminder. I found very useful the section of the unit that describes ways to prevent discipline problems and deal with them when and if necessary.
