The importance of managing a class can not be overlooked, as the lesson and the students understanding of the lesson can be dependent on quite of few things, and it’s the teacher’s job to maintain control and management of those things. The balance between teacher talking time and student talking time, the correct disciplinary actions, arranging classrooms and groups, and even establishing a type of rapport can influence one’s education. This was most helpful as I find the most important role of the teacher to be the manager of the classroom and keep the focus on the lesson, while also being attentive to individual students learning needs and social boundaries, as well as cultural ones.
