This unit explains the basics of classroom management. From developing rapport, seating arrangements, and connecting with students, this unit covers a lot of information. I found the details regarding eye contact and voice most helpful. When I was first teaching, I did not keep my voice strong. A clear, strong voice is essential in a language classroom. It is also essential that teachers modify tone and range for different phases of a lesson (giving instructions, providing correction/feedback, for example). I might choose to speak more succinctly and directly when giving instructions. However, when I give correction/feedback, I choose to use a more encouraging tone in my voice.
