Just like being nervous before an exam or a test is common to every students, I believe that at some point in a student's life, there must also be a period of time he/she cannot get along with others. And as much as we want the students to resolve and grow up by themselves over this matter, often times, they are not capable to. So, it is basically up to us as the teachers to think of ways on how to set up a friendly relationship if students don't get along with each other. I believe that human relations is a very vital part of our existence here on earth, be it in a family, at work places, religious organisations and in this case, in the school or in a classroom environment, we must develop a healthy and friendly relationship with everyone if we are to achieve our objective of learning, from one another or from the teaching. I sincerely believe that learning is not only done through academically but true learning on how to be an effective person. Learning how to love, respect, being unselfish, be patient, always preferring others than self and many more good values. All these can only be done if the teachers themselves start to teach these topics and then SHOW those qualities in their daily activities of what they have been teaching about, only then the students will be able to witness what were taught and follow the examples set by the teachers. It all start with the teacher. I love the principle of being quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. Many times we (teachers and students, basically everyone) get into trouble because we are get angry very quickly and thus losing the ability to be rationalised and from there we use our mouth to speak things we will regret later. Often times, in a heated environment, we have forgotten about listening in the first place before anger and nonsense from our mouth destroy the whole situation. Therefore, I would propose to teach the students the skill of listening first before saying anything and get angry. It sounds easy but it is anything but easy in order to master this. I will want to teach my students on, 'Do to others what you want others to do to you'. It may go different ways and achieve different results. But often times, if we the teachers constantly show the positive side of this principle to the students, they will for sure get it and follow what we show them. If he/she wants respect, then he/she must show respect to others first. If he/she needs love and attention, then he/she must give love and pay attention to others first and if they want to get along with others, they themselves must be friendly and get along with everyone first. This is how it works. This is how it should be. All in all, I would like to say that, our students are a reflection of who we are. If they come to a regular school and be in a classroom, they actually spend a whole lot of their daily lives with the teacher. If we the teachers, are not there to teach them the right values in life, who else will? Therefore, I sincerely believe that we shoulder a very heavy responsibility to give the right education to the students that will come our way in our lives. Thus, this is how I would create a harmonious atmosphere for my students and hopefully they will be able to set up a friendly relationship with one another.
