Unit six, much like unit four in regards to the present tenses, explained the four forms of the past tenses. Past simple is used for actions completed in the past and usually ends with "-ed." Past continuous is used primarily for interrupted past actions and follows the form "was/were verb-ing." Past perfect denotes time frames of certain actions and follows the form "had verb-ed." Lastly, past perfect continuous refers to actions that occurred in the past and may be still continuously happening. These words follow the form "had been verb-ing."
