In this unit I learned that there are a lot of irregular verbs in the past simple form, and it will require a lot of explaining to students as to why certain words are no -d/-ed. As a native English speaker, it never occurred to me, and reading this unit, I am not sure as to why it is like that, but the unit helped me understand that there is no rule to the irregular verbs and that it is difficult to explain without confusing the students even more. I have also learned that the past perfect continuous form is used less frequently, and taught less frequently. However, there is a way to explain a form barely used to the students so that they understand how to use it if it were to ever be used.
