This unit is about the past tense which is not very much different from the present tense except that the former relates to actions which happened in the past. From what I gathered, the past tense is also divided into four different times that is; the simple past, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. Each of these times have different usages and forms which if not very well mastered could be very confusing. The unit points out that teachers should be able to take note of tenses which could be very confusing for learners. For instance, students would often get the past perfect continuous confused with the past perfect and the past continuous. I believe it is important for the teacher herself to master all the tenses effectively as well as think of best activities to use at the activate stages of each tense type that will emphasize their usages and make their differences even clearer for the learners to see.
