This unit is about the English past tenses, verbs that are used to describe events that occurred in the past. There are four classes of past tense verbs, identical to the four classes of present tense verbs. There is past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. The unit also highlights some of the many irregular verbs and their special conjugations. The unit delves into each of the four past tense variations by providing a positive, negative and question based expression of the tense. For each tense, common uses, common errors and teaching example exercises are also provided.
