unit 6 past tenses this unit covers tenses in past simple/past continous/past perfect/past perfect continous. The rules that regulate the usage and placement of tenses and verbs, when creating sentences, by using the forms outlined in the unit for affirmative/negative/question types of tenses as a reference I can more easily explain proper sentence structure to my students. as well as demonstrate where mistakes may have occured and how to effectively remedy them. by being able to differentiate these different past tenses and explain the usage differences to my students. progress in english should be easier and less confusing. explaining the differences between regular and irregular verbs, where regular verbs can be turned to past tense simply by adding 'ed' to the end and irregular verbs tend to have a base form/past simple/past participle it should become easier for students to deal with such past tenses.
